Leezen Broad Bean Paste with Chili combines vibrant red chili peppers from Taiwan’s Chianan Plain with non-GMO soybeans, broad beans, and natural rock salt. Following a traditional process, the paste is stirred daily by an experienced maker and aged in traditional earthenware jars under the sun for 180 days to develop its naturally rich aroma and full-bodied fermented flavor.

Cane sugar, sesame oil, and star anise round out the fermented bean and chili base with savory, subtly sweet, and aromatic notes. Use it in stir-fries, braised dishes, noodles, mapo tofu, or homemade sauces whenever a flavorful chili kick and extra umami depth are needed.
